St. Croix 34th Virgin Islands Half-Marathon

This popular event draws runners of all experience and proficiency levels from around the world who enjoy the challenge of long-distance running in a stunningly beautiful location. Certified by the International Association of Athletic Federations and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races, the race traverses the east end loop of St Croix from north to south.

The race begins at 6am and concludes no later than 10am. Finishing participants will be awarded Pace Runners Virgin Islands Half-Marathon medals, with age division awards to the top three male and female finishers and to the top three in age groups.

The ChampionChip® timing system will be used. Race bag pick-up will be held at The Buccaneer on Saturday only; no race-day pick-ups will be allowed. Runners under 18 years of age must have a parent sign the entry form waiver. No runners under 14 years old will be allowed to compete.

Early registration offers a savings on entry fees; until Aug 30, registration fees are $55, then $65 until December 9. Register on-line at active.com. For more race information, click here. Race registration, click here.

Transportation

Transportation Tips: The heaviest travel days for races are arrivals Thursdays and departures Mondays. Avoiding either of these days could result in better flight selection and better fares.

American Airlines from Miami; Delta from Atlanta and USAirways from Charlotte have non-stop jet flights to St. Croix.

Many airlines connect to St. Croix via San Juan. Book American Eagle to St. Croix from San Juan. Cape air is a fine alternative for passengers, however it does not transport bikes.
